Herbstreit, as well as Desmond Howard, Lee Corso and guest picker Luke Bryan, all predicted on College Gameday that the No. 8 Hurricanes would defeat the No. 25 Tigers in week one, and Herbstreit felt like it was embarrassing enough that he had to clear the air with LSU fans publicly on Sunday night.
Here’s what he tweeted in the middle of the game last night:

Herbstreit and the College Gameday crew surely weren’t the only ones to sleep on the Tigers last night, LSU’s defense was unrelenting, holding Miami to just 83 yards rushing and forced Miami QB Malik Rosier to throw two interceptions.
Other than running back Nick Brossette, who rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns, the LSU offense wasn’t all that impressive. What was impressive however is that they didn’t need them to win handily over a top 10 team in the first game of the season.
