LSU has just had another player come off the board in the 2020 NFL Draft as K’Lavon Chaisson is now a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Chaisson was selected as the No. 20 overall pick in the draft.

One of the top pass rushers in the draft, Chaisson played a key role in helping the Tigers win the national championship on their way to a perfect 15-0 season.

Just a year removed from missing nearly the entire 2018 season due to ACL tear, Chaisson bounced back to make 60 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks for the Tigers in 2019.

The biggest knock on Chaisson’s game may be consistency but the edge rusher showed up big for the Tigers during the team’s run to the national championship, as he registered at least one sack against Texas, Florida, Texas A&M, Georgia and Oklahoma in 2019. Unfortunately, Chaisson did not register a single sack outside of those matchups.

Chaisson’s selection in the first round says a lot about the talent NFL teams see in the young defender as he only played two seasons for the Tigers, including his freshman season in which he was mostly a reserve player.

Despite missing the entire 2018 season due to injury, Chaisson was awarded the coveted No. 18 jersey by Ed Orgeron heading into the 2019 season. That speaks to his leadership in the locker room for a team that just had one of the most impressive single seasons in college football history.
