Les Miles thanks LSU crowd following 2007 title team reunion
Les Miles made an appearance at Death Valley on Saturday to watch his former team come from behind to beat Auburn.
He was a crowd favorite as the former LSU coach was there as part of the festivities to honor his 2007 national championship team at midfield. Miles and about 70 players were expected for the ceremony at halftime. On Sunday, he tweeted that it was great to be back in Tiger Stadium.
Miles was interviewed on the field by CBS sideline reporter Allie LaForce, and was offered a plate of grass. He happily took a piece and chowed down in trademark Miles fashion before LSU retook the field for the second half.
“Perfect,” he added, after taking a bite.
Miles has recalled that playing right field is where he took up the idea of eating grass.
Miles coached at LSU from 2005 through four games into last season before he was replaced by then-interim coach Ed Orgeron, who was later hired. Miles had seven double-digit win seasons.
