Every season, LSU hosts a Purple Game and a Gold Game. This year, though, the Tigers may be staging an impromptu White Game.

According to a report from Baton Rouge news station WBRZ, LSU fans are attempting to drum up support for a whiteout against Alabama in support of junior linebacker Devin White, who will miss the first half of the Nov. 3 game after being flagged for targeting in the second half of last Saturday’s win against Mississippi State.

Many have claimed the call isn’t in line with what the rulebook defines as targeting, and the timing of White’s first-half suspension has caused even more controversy. Tiger fans are raising money to put #FreeDevinWhite billboards near the SEC office in Birmingham, and one recognizable Louisiana figure has even publicly accused the league of colluding with Alabama.

No. 4 LSU and the No. 1 Crimson Tide won’t meet on the field for another 11 days, so we’ll see how much traction this proposed whiteout can get. It won’t be surprising to see plenty of white shirts in the stands when kickoff finally arrives.
