Malik Nabers has played his final snap as an LSU Tiger.

Nabers did not opt-out of the ReliaQuest Bowl as he sought to break the LSU record for receiving yards in a career. Naber caught 3 passes for 23 yards in the first half. His 11-yard reception put up at 3,004 receiving yards for his career, moving him ahead of Josh Reed in the LSU record book.

With the record secured, Nabers decided to not suit up for the game’s second half, LSU radio reported the development at the half. The ESPN2 TV broadcast later showed Nabers on the sideline without his pads.

Nabers had a sensational 2023, leading the nation during the regular season with 1,546 yards. Despite that, Nabers was snubbed of the Biletnikoff Award.

While LSU fans might be a bit disappointed Nabers won’t help the comeback effort, it did not hurt the Tigers on their first possession of the 3rd quarter.  After Wisconsin extended its lead to 28-14, LSU answered with an 8-play, 75-yard drive. Garrett Nussmeier hit Brian Thomas Jr. on a 38-yard deep ball to get it back to a one-score game.

The game is airing on ESPN2.
