One of the greatest LSU athletes in any sport was honored Sunday.

The school unveiled a statue of former Tigers women’s basketball star Seimone Augustus, who attended Sunday’s ceremony and was on hand to take in LSU’s game with Auburn in front of a huge home crowd.

Augustus scored more than 2,700 points in her 4 years with the Tigers from 2002-06, a run that included 3 trips to the Final Four.

She was then selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft by the Minnesota Lynx and averaged better than 15 points per game over a 15-year professional career. She was also a part of 4 WNBA championship teams.

Additionally, Augustus was a member of golf medal winning USA basketball teams in the 2008, 2012, and 2016 Olympic Games.
