Former Mississippi State QB Dak Prescott took the NFL by storm last year, leading the Dallas Cowboys to the NFC’s best record and setting an NFL record for most passes without an interception to start a career.

Now one game into his second season, Prescott has attempted 498 passes and has only thrown four interceptions. If he manages to avoid throwing a pick in his first two attempts on Sunday, he’ll break the record for fewest interceptions thrown in a quarterback’s first 500 pass attempts.

In typical Dak fashion, he told reporters on Wednesday that he doesn’t care about the record — only doing what is necessary to help the team win (via Pro Football Talk):

“To me, it’s just numbers,” Prescott said. “The milestone doesn’t mean anything. As I said, my main focus is taking care of the ball, keeping the ball in our team’s hands. Whatever the stat is really doesn’t mean anything. You’ve just got to go out there and take care of the ball week in and week out.”

Of course, it’s not a given that Prescott will break the record, as the Cowboys take on a strong Denver Broncos’ defense on Sunday afternoon.

Tune in to FOX at 3:25 p.m. Central time on Sunday to see if the ex-Bulldog can set yet another NFL record.
