Three games into his NFL career, former Mississippi State standout quarterback Dak Prescott continues to prove the doubters wrong with his strong play in Dallas. Prescott helped lead the Cowboys to a 31-17 win over Chicago Sunday night, and in the process, set an NFL record by beginning his career with 99 passes without throwing an interception.

Of course seeing Prescott protect the ball and not force any turnovers should be nothing new to State fans, as the quarterback threw 56 touchdowns compared to only 16 interceptions during his final two seasons in Starkville.

Early this morning, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter acknowledged Prescott’s strong start, while noting he had better keep it up if he wants to hold on to the record with Philadelphia’s Carson Wentz sitting right behind him:

Following the win, Dallas has improved its record to 2-1 with Prescott starting at quarterback. The team’s longtime starting quarterback Tony Romo is still out after injuring his back in the preseason. If Dak continues to play turnover free football and the wins continue to pile up, it will be interesting to see how the Cowboys handle the quarterback situation moving forward.

While the team’s starting quarterback duties for the end of this season may still be up for grabs at this point, the future of the franchise looks to be all the more apparent with each passing game – it’s Prescott all the way.
