Following his first NFL appearance, the praise continues to roll in for Dallas rookie quarterback Dak Prescott.

After Saturday night’s epic performance in his NFL debut, Twitter was ablaze in its adulation for Prescott. However, more importantly for his future with the Cowboys, the former Mississippi State quarterback appears to have already won over his NFL teammates and coaches – according to Clarence Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

“I thought Dak did a good job,” Dallas head coach Jason Garrett said after the game. “He had poise and composure. He ran the offense well. I thought he managed the game well and executed plays. He made some little plays and also made some big plays.”

If anything, Garrett appears to be downplaying the rookie’s first performance. Prescott finished the game by completing 10 of 12 passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns – and his only incompletions came from two drops by tight end Geoff Swaim.

Prescott’s first career NFL touchdown went to star receiver Dez Bryant. Following the game, Bryant did not hide his admiration for the rookie and even seemed to raise the bar on his expectations for the former MSU Bulldog.

“It’s like practice,” Bryant said. “That’s exactly what we were doing in practice. Dak was delivering the ball to everyone. With him playing behind a great leader like (Tony) Romo, he is going to learn a lot. He is doing outstanding.

“I think the best thing about Dak is that he is extremely calm. It’s like he’s been here before. He’s not playing like a rookie. He is going to be very good; he’s special.”

That’s something Mississippi State fans were already well aware of and now Dallas fans have to be excited about the possibility of Prescott being the potential future of the franchise.
