Sources said that Taylor pushed hard to play after the injury. It became clear that time and rest weren’t going to get to him to a point where he could be effective.

Taylor led the Bulldogs to a 4-0 start that included wins over Minnesota, South Carolina and Mizzou. Since then, MSU has dropped its last 3 games, and fallen to 4-3 overall with a 2-3 mark in conference play. Jeff Lebby‘s Mississippi State team travels to Texas on Saturday.
A sophomore, Taylor has completed 65.4% of his passes at 9.2 yards per attempt for 1,460 yards and 17 touchdowns with just 4 interceptions. He also has 1 rushing score. When he was healthy, Taylor averaged 298 passing yards per game.
