Joe Moorhead’s program had a tremendous weekend in recruiting as the Bulldogs landed three commitments for the 2019 recruiting cycle, which was headlined by the recommitment of in-state safety prospect Jarrian Jones (offensive lineman Darius Washington and defensive lineman Jack Harris also committed to MSU).

If you are unfamiliar with Jones’ story, the four-star prospect and Magnolia State native originally pledged to Dan Mullen’s program all the way back in 2016 but had since decommitted from MSU and committed to Oklahoma. Despite his pledge to the Sooners, Mississippi State never stopped recruiting Jones and those efforts have paid off as he’s back as a member of Hail State’s 2019 recruiting class.

Jones is currently the third-highest rated prospect in Mississippi State’s recruiting class, which is significant considering the class ranks inside the top 15 nationally at the moment.

Following his public announcement declaring his re-commitment to Mississippi State, one Ole Miss supporter took the opportunity to question the level of Jones’ commitment to MSU this time around.

Jones could have let that one go, but instead, he replied with a response that no Ole Miss supporter can come back from at the moment.

Here is Jones’ response to the Ole Miss fan:

Game, set, match.

Apparently, Nick Fitzgerald saw the response and offered up his support of the message. Jones’ popularity was already high in Starkville following his decision to re-commitment to Mississippi State but his quick wit on Twitter may turn him into a legend before he even arrives on campus.
