The Mississippi State Bulldogs were at a bit of a crossroads this month, as they transitioned from coach Dan Mullen to new coach Joe Moorhead.

Neither of those coaches was on the sidelines for the TaxSlayer Bowl on Saturday, leaving the job to longtime SEC assistant Greg Knox, who had been on Mullen’s staff for nine years.

The Bulldogs pulled off a thrilling victory, and after the game, an emotional Knox gave a passionate speech to the Mississippi State players in the locker room, as you can see in the video shared by @HailStateFB on Twitter:

It was great to see Knox pick up a victory as a head coach, especially since he now faces an uncertain future.

Knox may not have a spot on Moorhead’s staff, but even if he isn’t retained, he’s likely not going to be unemployed for long.
