Will Rogers signed a special NIL deal during the offseason.

The Mississippi State quarterback partnered with Simmons Erosion Control, a local contractor, along with the Mississippi chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, to raise money for every touchdown he threw during the regular season.

As it turns out, a total of $74,713 will be used to grant the wish of 12 kids across the state. Simmons Erosion Control donated $1,000 for each of the 34 touchdowns he threw, totaling $34,000. Make-A-Wish then added $40,000 on its end, gathered from donations made during the campaign.

“It just kind of adds an extra strain of motivation to play harder and, ultimately, the more touchdowns are thrown, the more kids’ wishes get granted,” Rogers told WCBI-TV.

“We think it’s absolutely wonderful that we were able to partner with Will just because [of] the type of role model that he is,” said Jennie Simmons, president of Simmons Erosion Control. “The fact that we could give back to Make-A-Wish, not only with a role model of Will’s caliber but also through the school that we both love, was wonderful.”

It’s awesome to see Rogers get behind such a great cause.
