Following Justin Herbert's decision to return to Oregon, Drew Lock moves up Mel Kiper's QB board
The Oregon Ducks got a late Christmas present when star QB Justin Herbert announced on Wednesday that he was returning for his senior season.
Herbert was projected to be the No. 1 overall pick and the top quarterback taken in the 2019 NFL Draft by a number of analysts, so now that he’s out of the mix, it benefits other guys.
As you can see below, ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. updated his quarterback rankings following Herbert’s decision, with Mizzou QB Drew Lock landing in the No. 3 spot:

Lock is projected by many to be a first-round pick, but he still has his work cut out for him to make himself a first-round… well, lock.
Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins is an underclassman, too, so if he returns to Columbus, Lock could rise even higher.
