Missouri will be without senior linebacker Chad Bailey on Saturday when it faces No. 2 Georgia.

The 6-foot ‘backer from Missouri City was a starter in 11 games throughout the 2022 season, but his final year with the Tigers has been completely derailed by injuries. He missed the first two games of the season after undergoing an unspecified procedure in August. He missed Mizzou’s Oct. 21 game against South Carolina as well.

According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Bailey won’t play Saturday against the Bulldogs either.

Bailey had eight tackles against LSU on Oct. 7. He has 17 on the season, to go along with one sack, one forced fumble, and one pass breakup. He has been one of Missouri’s highest-graded defenders when he’s been on the field, but has logged fewer than 200 snaps on defense through Mizzou’s first eight games.

Ty’Ron Hopper and Chuck Hicks have been Mizzou’s primary snap-getters at linebacker so far. Triston Newson has also seen some time, mostly in coverage.

The Tigers need all hands on deck Saturday. At 7-1, Mizzou still has everything to play for. A win over the Bulldogs would put Missouri in the driver’s seat in the SEC East and rocket the Tigers up into the College Football Playoff conversation.

Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
