It’s been a tumultuous last few years for the Missouri football program. Distractions ranging from the sudden retirement of iconic coach Gary Pinkel to publicized racism on campus has truly affected both the program and the community.

When Barry Odom was promoted from the defensive coordinator position to head coach, no one quite new what to expect (at least from an outside perspective).

Odom’s team lost its first game of the 2016 season against a tough West Virginia team. Although the Tigers entered Saturday as heavy favorites against Eastern Michigan, the odds/historical significance certainly weren’t in Odom’s favor.

Despite this, Mizzou came out and won by a score of 61-21. After the game, the team presented Odom with the game ball. This emotional scene is certainly a special event to watch.
