In two games this year, Purdue sophomore WR Jared Sparks has seven catches for 87 yards.

However, if he adds to that total this weekend, those catches will mean just a little bit more, as he’ll be going head-to-head with his brother — Mizzou CB Adam Sparks.

After playing against each other at Faurot Field last year, Adam’s Tigers will travel to Purdue for this year’s rematch:

“We always used to wrestle as kids,” Jared says. “We never really got the opportunity on the field to have a matchup on a consistent basis — I’ve always been at the quarterback position and he’s been on the defensive side. It’s always been me throwing him the ball, but now it’s going to be me catching it on him. That’s what I’m really excited about — now it’s mano y mano.”

The Sparks family will be wearing “PurZou” shirts when the Tigers and Boilermakers meet this weekend. Check out the battle between Adam and Jared at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time on the Big Ten Network.
