Banking Facts to Know About WV Online Casinos

Before we get into all the different options, thereโ€™s a few things to know about banking with a West Virginia online casino.

  • No two casinos are the same: While many of the iGaming operators offer similar banking options, nothing is set in stone to be included on all WV online casinos. Some may also have different requirements about when and how you can use a particular option.
  • Deposit minimums: When making a deposit, each online casino will have a minimum amount they require based on the method. Most options range in the $5-10 area, but some can be in the thousands if you are opting for a bank wire.
  • Processing times: Each online casino will have a particular processing time when you request a withdrawal. These times can be anywhere from 24 hours to multiple business days. After that time, there still could be additional time it takes for the withdrawal to appear in your account depending on the method you use. Be sure to look at the information each casino provides on how long to expect.
  • Credit card limitations: While credit cards havenโ€™t been banned for online casino use in West Virginia, select operators have elected to ban them. If planning to use a credit card, make sure you know if itโ€™s an option first.

Available WV Online Casino Banking Options

If you want to know all the different options, hereโ€™s your answer.

Debit Cards

The most direct option may be using a debit card. These are accepted at all WV online casinos through Visa and Mastercard. The payments are drawn directly from your bank account and withdrawals will reflect on your bank account as well. Transactions are typically fastest with debit cards.

Credit Cards

As we noted, some online casinos still accept credit cards as a deposit method. However, you canโ€™t make withdrawals using this method.

Direct Deposit

Similar to how many companies use payroll these days, you can have an electronic deposit made by providing your bank account number and routing number. Processing times can be a little longer than debit cards.

ACH/eCheck

This is pretty close to the same process as direct deposit, just using Automated Clearing House.

Virtual Wallets

An increasingly popular option, virtual wallets provide a digital copy of your banking cards and store them all in one place. Transactions reflect directly on your bank account without having to use your bank numbers, instead using your debit or credit cards virtually. Top virtual wallet options include:

  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay
  • Venmo
  • PayPal
  • Skrill
  • Neteller

Each brand has their own strengths and weaknesses, as well as processing times.

Gift Cards/Play+

One option that doesnโ€™t require any bank account information is using a gift card or Play+ card. Select online casino brands offer gift cards for set amounts to make deposits, while Play+ is a card that you put your own funds on and then can deposit some of those funds into your iGaming account. You canโ€™t make withdrawals using a gift card, but can on a Play+ card.

Wire Transfers

If looking to make large transactions, you can elect to do a wire transfer directly through your bank, but these require sizable minimums to take place.

Cash Options

There are two cash options you have to fund your account. One is PayNearMe where you can scan a code from the online casino and make your cash deposit at a participating retail store. The store will accept the cash and the value will appear online in your account. Some online casinos also allow you to make a cash payment at the cage of its retail casino partner and it will reflect online. You can also make withdrawals doing the cash at the cage option. Transactions reflect right away once you make your cash deposit.

Paper Check

Limited to withdrawals, you can have the online casino send you a paper check for your winnings. This typically takes about 2-3 weeks to arrive.
