West Virginia online casino revenue was slightly up in May, bringing in approximately $39.5 million last month.

Mayโ€™s total was up 3.1% from the $38.3 million the state did in April.

The West Virginia online casinos were also up big year-over-year. Last May, the state tallied $29.9 million in iGaming revenue. Last month marked a 32.1% increase from a year ago.

How Mayโ€™s WV Online Casino Revenue is Tabulated

The West Virginia Lottery releases weekly revenue reports on iGaming through their website, so there are not clear-cut monthly totals, but you can get a good approximation of how things are.

Reports are slotted by the ending of each week, Hereโ€™s how each looked in May.

  • Week ending May 2:ย $9,592,385 (averages to $2,740,681 over 2 days)
  • Week ending May 9: $9,288,387
  • Week ending May 16: $9,215,597
  • Week ending May 23: $8,562,622
  • Week ending May 30: $8,367,375
  • Week ending June 6: $9,545,280 (averages to 1,363,611 over 1 day)
  • Total: $39,538,273

The weeks ending May 2 and June 6 are done by average, so that is why we say the monthly total was approximately $39.5 million.

With the 15% tax rate on the revenue, $5.9 million was generated for the state through Mayโ€™s online casino play.

2026 Revenue Just Shy of $200 Million

Through five months of 2026, WV online casino revenue is sitting at $198.6 million, just shy of $200 million.

That is up 37.3% from the $144.6 million the state was at through five months of 2025.

Month2025 Revenue2026 RevenuePercentage Increase
January$29.8 million$41.7 million40.0%
February$26.2 million$37.1 million41.6%
March$30.1 million$42.0 million39.5%
April$28.6 million$38.3 million33.9%
May$29.9 million$39.5 million32.1%
Total$144.6 million$198.6 million37.3%

The year-over-year growth is slowing down. This is three consecutive months that the growth rate is under 40%. The last two months have seen notable drops in growth rate after March set the monthly revenue record.

Regardless of the growth rate dipping, WV iGaming is still putting up record numbers in 2026. Tax revenue is approaching $30 million thus far for the year, over $8 million more than a year ago.

Fiscal Year 2025/26 Ends This Month

West Virginia focuses its revenue over fiscal years.

Each fiscal year begins on July 1 and ends on June 30.

Data from the West Virginia Lottery is through June 6, with total revenue from iGaming at $408.7 million. That has generated $61.3 million in tax revenue.

Fiscal year 2024/25, which concluded on June 30, 2025, finished with $307.7 million in online casino revenue. That amounted to $46.2 million in tax revenue.

With 3.5 weeks still to go, FY 2025/26 iGaming revenue is already up 32.6%. With the additional weeks, that should push the fiscal yearly growth over 40%.
