The LSU Tigers won it all in 2025. SEC coaches like the Tigers to begin their campaign to repeat as national champions by winning a conference title.

The preseason coaches poll was revealed on Thursday. LSU is on top with 231 total points, including 9 first-place votes. Texas is second in the poll, though the Longhorns only received 1 first-place vote compared to 4 for Mississippi State and 2 for Arkansas.

Here’s how the conference coaches see the 16 teams entering the 2026 season:

Last season saw Texas and Oklahoma play their first seasons in the SEC. The Longhorns claimed the regular-season title, but it was Vanderbilt that won the SEC Tournament. This year’s conference tournament is set for May 19-24 in Hoover, Alabama.

The SEC has been college baseball’s most dominant conference for years, with 6 straight national championships won by 5 programs (Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, LSU and Tennessee).

The 2026 college baseball season gets underway on Feb. 13.
