LSU has the opportunity to play its way to Omaha at Alex Box Stadium.

The Tigers are the No. 6 national seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament. LSU not only hosts a Regional in Baton Rouge, but will host a Super Regional if it advances to that round.

It wasn’t a sure thing that LSU would be a top-8 seed. The Tigers have the No. 10 RPI after a 1-1 showing in the SEC Baseball Tournament. Ultimately, 43 wins with 20 SEC victories put the Tigers in the top 8 nationally.

You look at their lineup. You look at their Friday-Saturday guys, who might be the best 1-2 punch maybe in the country, when you talk about both of those guys,” committee chair Jay Artigues said, per The Advocate. “So, they’re a team that definitely, in my mind and the committee’s mind, was deserving of a top-eight seed.

“Where they fell in there, that’s when you can really start splitting hairs. But I don’t think there’s a question they’re deserving of a top-8 seed.

Playing at Alex Box will be a big boost as the Tigers try to get back to the College World Series. This season, LSU posted a 30-5 record at home while going 8-8 in true road games and 5-1 at neutral sites. The Bayou Bengals begin the NCAA Tournament facing Little Rock on Friday.
