A little over a week after announcing that he will return to play for Auburn in 2026-27, Sebastian Williams-Adams is set to enter the transfer portal. Williams-Adams is the 5th Tiger to enter the transfer portal this offseason, joining Filip Jovic, Kaden Magwood, Elyjah Freeman and Abdul Bashir.

The news, via 247Sports’ Nathan King, comes just hours after Troy transfer Thomas Dowd and Creighton transfer Owen Freeman announced they will both join Steven Pearl’s 2nd unit at Auburn. Dowd was an All-Sun Belt forward at Troy, averaging a double-double at 14.4 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. Freeman, a 6-10 rim protector, averaged 5 points and 4 rebounds per game with the Bluejays.

Additionally, Auburn added 7-foot-1 Santa Clara transfer Bukky Oboye earlier this offseason – another elite rim defender who made 101 of his 131 2-point shot attempts (77%) in 2025-26.

This is obviously an unexpected move by the freshman forward, even despite all the talent coming into the frontcourt. The former 4-star prospect averaged 7 points and 3.5 rebounds per game on an average of 27.3 minutes per game. He also averaged just under 1 block and just over 1 steal per game. While these numbers don’t exactly jump off the page, he’s only going to get better with more games under his belt.
