Texas A&M guard Bryson Warren, who committed to the program in April after playing for the G League and Overtime Elite out of high school, has been denied eligibility for the 2026-27 season. That’s according to a Tuesday night report from TexAgs’ Luke Evangelist.

Per Evangelist, “the facts of the case” that originally would have allowed Warren to play “had fundamentally changed” since he signed with the Aggies.

“Since then, the NCAA has come outย with stronger language saying that players who signed Exhibit 10 contracts in the G Leagueย were not going to be able to play college basketball,” Evangelist said.

A look at Warren’s time in the G League before coming to Texas A&M shows that he indeed signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the New York Knicks in September. Exhibit 10 contracts “are one-year, non-guaranteed contracts” that allow a G League team to maintain a player’s rights.

In this case, during the 2025-26 season, Warren played for the Westchester Knicks, the New York Knicks’ G League affiliate, where he averaged 15.6 points per game and 28.9 minutes in seven games.

Texas A&M, however, has every intention to fight the ruling.

“This staff has been workingย to be prepared for a situation like this (and) is well positioned and prepared to weigh all theย options here as Bryson Warren continues his quest for eligibility,” Evangelist said.

The ruling on Warren comes a day after the Aggies landed a pledge from former Oregon State and Texas guard Jordan Pope, who had originally exhausted his four years of eligibility but received a fifth year thanks to the Colorado ruling.
