In late February, former East Carolina QB Gardner Minshew announced he was transferring to Alabama for his senior season to play as a graduate transfer.

However, he has apparently had a change of heart, announcing on Tuesday evening that he’d be heading to a Pac-12 school instead.

As you can see in the tweet below, Minshew announced he’d be joining coach Mike Leach with the Washington State Cougars in 2018:

Minshew never confirmed the Alabama reports, so it’s possible he never made that decision at all. This time, though, he has indeed confirmed via his personal Twitter that he’d head to Wazzu.

Considering the Cougars lost QB Luke Falk to the NFL, Minshew could step in and lead a talented offensive squad right away. He had reportedly committed to Alabama to learn from coach Nick Saban, as he wants a career in coaching, but now it appears the lure of playing time has topped that.
