Alabama is addressing the reported conduct of some fans who attended the Georgia game.

Multiple videos posted to social media showed that trash was thrown on the field, leading Georgia staffers to tell Bulldog players to put their helmets back on as they left the field for the locker room. One video shows that as Georgia linebacker Raylen Wilson was leaving the field, he was shoved in the helmet by a fan in a low-level section behind the end zone.

Alabama athletics released a statement to AL.com on Sunday night addressing fan conduct:

We are disappointed by the unacceptable behavior exhibited by some of the gameโ€™s attendees last night and are in the process of gathering information,โ€ UA athletics’ statement to AL.com reads. โ€œAlabama takes matters of fan conduct seriously and expects everyone at our events to demonstrate respect to the student-athletes, coaches, staff, officials and visitors. Such conduct will not be tolerated.

The throwing of trash appeared to be in response to the non-call of defensive pass interference on a late 4th-quarter play that occurred deep in Georgia territory. Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer was visibly upset by the non-call, but acknowledged after the game that the Crimson Tide should avoid putting themselves in such a position.

Alabama is on the road in Week 7, facing Tennessee in the latest chapter of the Third Saturday in October rivalry. The Tide’s next home game is in Week 8 when Texas A&M visits Tuscaloosa.
