Kameron Howard is going back in the transfer portal. The Alabama defensive back shared the news in a social media post Saturday.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of an NFL-style defensive system that sharpened my football IQ, strengthened my body, and built my mindset as a world class safety,” Howard wrote.

“Thank you to Coach DeBoer, Coach Womack, and Coach Jones for the elite coaching, five-star development, and daily competition against the best talent in the SEC.

“To my teammates: We’ve been battle-tested together, and the bonds we’ve built will last a lifetime.

After much prayer and discussion with my family and NFL mentors, I have decided to enter the transfer portal.

“God bless.”

Howard began his college football career at Charlotte. He transferred to Alabama ahead of the 2024 season. With the Crimson Tide, Howard appeared in 6 games, totaling 4 tackles. This season, Howard’s only appearances came in September games against ULM and Wisconsin.

A native of Clinton, Maryland, Howard prepped at the Saint Frances Academy. He played for Biff Poggi in high school and his lone season at Charlotte.
