Auburn has officially hired DeMarcus Van Dyke to Alex Golesh‘s staff as the team’s new cornerbacks coach.

When Golesh was hired last month, Van Dyke was named as one of the South Florida assistants expected to follow the head coach to The Plains. Auburn made the hire official on Wednesday, releasing a statement from Golesh.

“We are thrilled to bring Coach DVD to Auburn,” Golesh said in a program release. “He has an elite ability to build genuine relationships with his players and develop them at the highest level. His NFL experience brings a valuable perspective to our program, and he’s worked and played for some of the best defensive minds in football. Coach DVD is going to make an immediate impact on our defense, and his strong connections in key recruiting areas will help us compete for the best talent in the country.”

Van Dyke was with Golesh for the 2024 and ’25 seasons at USF. Prior to USF, he was the cornerbacks coach at FIU in 2023 and served in various staff roles at Miami, his alma mater, from 2018-22, including as cornerbacks coach in 2021. Van Dyke played for the Hurricanes from 2007-10 before a 6-season career in the NFL.
