Arkansas’ last game was an 85-77 loss to Kentucky, ending a three-game Razorbacks win streak. They’ll try to get back on track Saturday on the road against a slumping Mississippi State team that has lost six of its last seven.
The Razorbacks, though, will be missing a pair of key players during their trip to Starkville. Guard Karter Knox (knee) and D.J.Wagner (ankle) are out, the Razorbacks’ radio pregame show revealed before tipoff.
Knox, who has averaged 8.4 points and 4.7 rebounds in 21 games and 18 starts, played 16 minutes in the game against Kentucky but didn’t score. Wagner, who averages 7.4 points per outing and had appeared in every game for the Razorbacks until Saturday, put up four points in 15 minutes.
The Razorbacks go into Saturday’s game against the Bulldogs with a 16-6 mark and a 6-3 record in SEC play. They started the day tied with Vanderbilt for third place in the conference and a game back of both Texas A&M and Florida.
Joe Lunardi’s bracketology from Friday has the Razorbacks in good shape for an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament. They are projected to be a 6 seed in the South region, grouped with Santa Clara, Purdue, and Austin Peay.
