Auburn commits throw Hugh Freeze in pool to celebrate flip of 5-star WR Perry Thompson
Auburn commits were very excited after the news came out regarding 5-star WR Perry Thompson. Thompson flipped his commitment from Alabama to Auburn on Saturday.
Thompson had been committed to Alabama since June of 2022, and changed his mind on Saturday.
After hearing the news, some Auburn commits decided to lift their head coach up and throw him in the pool to celebrate. Maybe the players decided Freeze was too hot on the recruiting trail and wanted him to cool off.

Thompson’s commitment is a great achievement for Freeze not only because it involved a rival school, but since it’s the first 5-star commit for the Auburn HC’s 2024 class.
The Foley, Alabama native comes in at 6-foot-3, 202 pounds and should be a nice addition to Freeze’s 2024 class. Up until Saturday, the only other WR Auburn had was 3-star commit Bryce Cain.
Auburn fans will be celebrating this win before Freeze has even stepped onto the football field. Why shouldn’t they when it’s over a hated rival like Alabama?
