During Saturday night’s contest versus LSU, Arkansas running back Rawleigh Williams III broke the 1,000-yard plateau for the season.
While this is a fantastic personal accomplishment, something must be said for the influence of Bret Bielema.
Bielema has had 11 consecutive seasons with at least one 1,000-yard rusher. A former lineman at Iowa, Bielema understands the need to win the battle of the trenches up front.
As such, Bielema-coached teams are often tough, physical squads with an emphasis on running the football. Dating back to his time at Wisconsin, he’s coached the likes of James White, Alex Collins, P.J. Hill, Montee Ball, and Williams III.
Suffice it to say, but high school running backs may want to take a closer look at Bielema’s program.
