Cade Mays isn’t shy about heaping some big-time praise on running back Jabari Small.
“He reminds me a lot of a guy like Alvin Kamara,” Mays recently told reporters, per The Tennessean. “Watching (Kamara) when he was here and just the burst he had and the balance he had and the vision in being able to feel the field and feel defenders. I feel like Jabari does a really good job of that with his vision and agility and balance.”
Listed at 5-11, 206 pounds on the Tennessee roster, Small is similar in size to Kamara (5-10, 215 on Saints roster). If Small truly runs like Kamara, Tennessee fans will hope to see him used better than the former Volunteer now a standout with the New Orleans Saints.
Small is coming off of a freshman season in which he recorded 26 carries for 117 yards. He had a strong showing in the win over Vanderbilt, posting a season-high 48 yards on six carries, including a long of 17 yards.
