Clemson beat out South Carolina and Florida on Friday to secure a verbal commitment from one of the state’s top prospects in the 2026 class.

Roebuck (S.C.) Dorman safety Kentavion Anderson announced his commitment to Dabo Swinney and the Tigers during a live commitment ceremony. He even called Swinney on the spot to tell him of the decision. According to the 247 Composite, Anderson is one of the top safeties in his class and the second-ranked player from the state of South Carolina.

Anderson stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 190 pounds. In the industry-generated Composite, he’s the 10th-ranked safety prospect and the 119th-ranked overall recruit. He’s a 4-star prospect, making him Clemson’s 10th blue-chipper to publicly pledge to the class.

According to Clemson247, Anderson grew up a Clemson fan and was just waiting for the Tigers to reciprocate the love. He made unofficial visits to multiple games during the 2024 season, and he officially secured an offer from the Tigers in December. Tennessee, Michigan, Mizzou, USC, and Florida have all offered him since the start of the new year, but Clemson closed the deal in the end.

Anderson becomes the 15th known recruit to commit to Clemson during the current cycle. The Tigers currently have the fifth-ranked class in the country. You can see Anderson’s highlight tape below, via Hudl:
