Clemson provides injury update for starting QB Christopher Vizzina

Clemson got back into the win column with a 22-7 victory over Georgia Southern in a weather-delayed game on Saturday, but it may have come at a cost.
During the contest, Tigers starting quarterback Christopher Vizzina exited with an elbow injury and did not return. The senior had completed 4 passes for 19 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception prior to leaving the field.
And according to reporting from CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz, Vizzina may be set to miss more time, as Clemson expects the signal-caller to at least be out for the team’s upcoming clash with North Carolina next Saturday.
In his first season as the full-time starter, Vizzina has struggled somewhat thus far. He completed 10-of-16 passes for 83 yards and an interception during the Tigers’ loss to LSU to open the season.
Freshman Tait Reynolds, a former highly touted recruit out of Arizona, is expected to make his first start. He completed 4-of-6 passes for 22 yards against the Bayou Bengals.
Clemson will host North Carolina at noon ET on Saturday, with the game being broadcast by ESPN. Unlike last year’s meeting, Bill Belichick will be bringing an undefeated Tar Heels squad into Death Valley.
