Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence won’t be making trip to ACC Media Days

The Clemson Tigers are the reigning national champions in college football, and they’ll be a top team again in 2019.
A big part of the team’s success is rising sophomore QB Trevor Lawrence, who had an outstanding 2018 season for the Tigers after taking over for Kelly Bryant.
However, when the Tigers head to Charlotte on July 17-18 for ACC Media Days, Lawrence will not be present. Per a release from the ACC on Tuesday, Clemson’s representatives will be senior OG John Simpson and senior S Tanner Muse.
Of course, since Lawrence is still only a sophomore, it’s fair that coach Dabo Swinney wants to give seniors a chance to go to Media Days. Still, it is a bit disappointing that we won’t get to hear from the star quarterback.
Lawrence still has the 2019 season and 2020 season to go before he’s eligible for the NFL Draft, so perhaps we’ll see him at ACC Media Days this time next year.
