Week 2 of SEC play in 2026 is officially in the books, and that means that SEC Network analyst Cole Cubelic has another round of takeaways from every squad around the top conference in college football.

The biggest game of the weekend was the top-5 clash between Ohio State and Texas, and Cubelic’s main takeaway for the Longhorns was that they had “a comeback for the ages” in their massive win over the Buckeyes, and that they also “showed some serious grit.

He said Alabama had an “impressive rally” in its conference win over Kentucky, while the Wildcats suffered a “tough loss” after a great start they could not sustain down the stretch.

On Arkansas‘ blowout loss to Utah, Cubelic called it a “tough one,” where the Razorbacks looked lost on both sides of the ball for most of the game.

He described LSU‘s win over Louisana Tech as “tougher than it needed to be,” and that the quarterback and offensive line play was not where it needed to be early on against an inferior opponent.

When it came to Oklahoma’s disastrous road loss against Michigan, Cubelic described it as “tough to watch” and said the Sooners put too much on quarterback John Mateer.

He also said that Tennessee, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, and Missouri all had really nice wins, while the rest of the conference “handled their business” in their respective matchups.
