College football recruiting expert Tom Loy believes that 5-star quarterback prize Jared Curtis won’t just flip his commitment from Georgia, he’ll flip it to an SEC rival.

Loy, who covers recruiting for 247Sports and CBS Sports, said on Saturday afternoon that he sees Curtis heading to Vanderbilt in 2026 instead of Athens. Curtis has been committed to Georgia since May 5 of this year, but he is from Nashville, so believing that Curtis will 1 day put on a Vanderbilt uniform isn’t far-fetched at all.

It’s also worth noting that on Friday, Vanderbilt lost a quarterback recruit for 2026 when Michael Mitchell Jr. decommitted from the Commodores. Mitchell is a 3-star recruit from San Francisco, so perhaps with Mitchell out of the picture that would open up a nice spot for Curtis to flip from Georgia and end up back home in Nashville.

But Loy has his own ideas on the matter, which he posted on Saturday for Georgia fans to get crazy about and Vandy fans to get crazy about, all for different reasons.

Less than a month ago, Loy still felt that Curtis would honor his commitment to Georgia and stick it out with the Bulldogs in 2026.

But apparently that has all changed for Loy, and now he believes that Vandy is in line to reap the benefits of a possible flip by the 5-star phenom who is currently the top-rated player in the Class of 2026, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

And if nothing else, Curtis already has a cheering section waiting for him back in Nashville, as everyone found out last month on ESPN’s College GameDay.
