College GameDay is headed to Eugene, Oregon, in Week 7.

ESPN announced that decision on Saturday night. Rather than head to Columbia, Missouri, for a top-25 matchup between Mizzou and Alabama, GameDay will be back in Big Ten country next week for a high-stakes matchup between the Ducks and Hoosiers.

Here’s the official announcement:

Both Oregon and Indiana will carry undefeated records into next week. The Ducks have one high-profile win this season — a road victory at Penn State in Week 5. Indiana also has a marquee victory as the Hoosiers thrashed a then-top-10 Illinois team last month.

Eugene beat out multiple potential destinations for Week 7’s GameDay location. Columbia certainly would have made a lot of sense in a potential top-10 showdown between Mizzou and Alabama. The SEC has 2 other massive games next weekend, too, with Texas and Oklahoma meeting in the Cotton Bowl and Georgia facing Auburn on the Plains.

Instead, Pat McAfee, Kirk Herbstreit and Co. will be at Autzen Stadium for a big-time matchup between Big Ten Playoff hopefuls.

College GameDay was in Eugene last season for Oregon’s dramatic 32-31 victory over Ohio State.
