College GameDay was on the site of what turned out to be a barnburner of a game in Bloomington. Both Indiana and Minnesota hit booming 60-yard field goals toward the end of regulation before the Hoosiers eventually emerged with a 23-16 win.

While the action on the field was gripping, GameDay itself raked in some massive ratings for ESPN.

Per the network, an average of 2.5 million viewers tuned into the show during Week 9, while the show’s final 11 a.m. ET hour was watched by 3.2 million. That makes it the program’s second-highest-rated Week 9 episode. So far this season, GameDay‘s overall ratings are 4% percent higher year-over-year, ESPN said.

Saturday marked just the third time Indiana has hosted College GameDay. Its previous visit was in 2024 for the Hoosiers’ Week 9 game against Washington. Before that, it was on hand in 2017 for a Week 1 game between Indiana and Ohio State.

The GameDay crew will find themselves in familiar territory in Week 10, though, as No. 4 Notre Dame will host No. 1 Miami in one of the biggest college football games of the season. It will mark the show’s 13th trip to South Bend, tying with Florida and Tennessee for the sixth-most visits in show history.
