After a 6-0 start to the season at UNLV, Dan Mullen’s record has its first blemish.

The Rebels were blown out by Boise State 56-31 on the famous blue turf on Saturday. The Broncos were favored by double-digits in this game and were able to cruise to a comfortable victory over Mullen’s UNLV team.

The former Florida and Mississippi State coach has been in the news this week. Mullen has been linked to a variety of job openings so far this year, which is not a surprise given UNLV’s hot start to the season and his track record of positive results in the SEC. However, Mullen has been clear about his desire to remain UNLV’s head coach beyond this season. On Friday evening, Mullen specifically said he had “zero interest” in the Arkansas job.

It’s possible UNLV could still get back into the mix for the Mountain West title race. The Rebels are likely to be favored in their remaining games and could potentially get a rematch with Boise in the conference title game in December if it can avoid another loss.

UNLV will host New Mexico next weekend.
