Danny Kanell blasts CFP committee rankings: ‘Made AP voters look like geniuses’

Danny Kanell doesn’t need much of an invitation to make his thoughts known on, well, anything in the college football space.
That certainly includes the College Football Playoff.
After the initial Top 25 rankings were released, Kanell made it quite clear that the selection committee got it wrong. One of his main gripes concerned Alabama, which was ranked No. 5.
This was just one of a number of posts the CBS Sports college football analyst and former Florida State quarterback fired off on X:
“Doesn’t the committee realize Nick Saban is not at Bama anymore???” Kanell added moments later.
He also accused the committee of “SEC propaganda” (“Money well spent, Commissioner Sankey,” he said) and Wake Forest coming in at No. 16 as “a complete joke” and a sign of “disrespect.”
Continuing on his point of Alabama being ranked too high, Kanell noted Alabama’s 16-point loss to Tennessee earlier in the season.
“This committee is the worst, most non-sensical one yet,” he said.
If you haven’t caught on yet, Kanell was pretty fired up. And that was after the first rankings release. There are still four more of these to go until Selection Day on Dec. 6, when we learn the 12 teams that will be going to the Playoff.
