Florida quarterback DJ Lagway is dealing with a new injury after the Week 4 loss against Miami, according to 247Sports. Lagway is in a walking boot and On3 is reporting that it’s a minor toe injury.

In the midst of a 3-game losing streak, Florida is on a bye week and Lagway is expected be back under center when the Gators take on visiting No. 10 Texas in Week 6.

The 6-foot-3 Lagway threw for only 61 yards on 12-of-23 passing in the loss at Miami. The sophomore from Texas has passed for 690 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions this season.

During his freshman campaign, Lagway finished with 1,915 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions.

The heat is on Lagway, head coach Billy Napier and the entire Florida team to turn it around but they have a daunting slate ahead. Six of Florida final 8 games are against teams that are currently ranked.

Texas leads the all-time series 3-0-1 vs. Florida. Texas’ 49-17 victory last season in Austin was the first matchup between the programs since Dec. 7, 1940.

Texas at Florida is slated for Oct. 4 at 3:30 p.m. ET from The Swamp, with the time still available to be flexed.
