Hosting the Kansas City Chiefs, arguably the National Football League’s best team, at snowy Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday, Drew Lock and the Denver Broncos had their work cut out for them.
Trailing, 24-9, early in the third quarter, Denver attempted a flea-flicker to try to catch the Kansas City defense sleeping. Instead, the trick play backfired horribly.

In his second professional season after a standout career in Columbia with the Missouri Tigers, Lock started the Broncos’ first two games of the season but left the Week 2 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 20 with a shoulder injury.
Missing the team’s next two games, he returned for the Week 6 victory over the New England Patriots on October 18.
Throwing for 12,193 yards during his collegiate career, Lock graduated as the second-leading passer in Missouri history, trailing only Chase Daniel’s 12,515.
His 99-career touchdown passes also trail only Daniel (101) in the Tigers record book.
