Eli Cox announces plans for future with Kentucky football

Eli Cox will return to Kentucky to play a final 6th season of college football.
It’s hard to put into perspective how huge that is for Kentucky football. The 3-year starter had held down the center and guard positions across his time at Kentucky.
Here’s his announcement post on X:

Cox started at center in 2022 under OC Rich Scangarello but moved back to right guard when Liam Coen retook control of the offense this season. However, he was forced to move back to center a little before the midpoint in the season. Cox has allowed 15 pressures, 11 hurries, a quarterback hit and 3 sacks per PFF.
The senior redshirted in 2019 and used the 2020 COVID-19 season of eligibility to give him one more year in college football. 2024 will be his 6th and final season in CFB.
He was not a highly-rated recruit out of high school, coming in as a 3-star to 24Sports. He chose his home-state Wildcats. Kentucky was his only Power 5 offer.
