Eli Drinkwitz and the Missouri Tigers are coming off a very solid 2024 season where they finished 10-3. Quarterback Brady Cook had a terrific career for Missouri, but he graduated.
Penn State transfer Beau Pribula and Sam Horn are currently in a tight battle for the position. When asked about the competition between the two quarterbacks, Drinkwitz said nothing has changed in terms any separation.
“There hasn’t really been any separation,” Eli Drinkwitz told reporters.

Pribula played sparingly at Penn State in his two seasons, as he finished 37-of-56 for 421 yards and 9 touchdowns. Where he really showcased his talents though for the Nittany Lions was with his feet. Last season, he rushed for 242 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Horn is also a great athlete, as he was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 17th round of the 2025 MLB Draft, and he has signed with them.
This feels like a quarterback battle that could go right up to the opener, if not even have a scenario where both quarterbacks play a lot early in the season. Both quarterbacks are known to be very good athletes, but neither of them have been asked to lead a team in a Power-4 conference as the starting quarterback.
The Tigers open up with Central Arkansas, and then host rival Kansas the following week.
