Ennis Rakestraw, Missouri CB and likely first-round pick, to miss Senior Bowl, per report

Ennis Rakestraw is a first-round NFL pick in the eyes of multiple talent evaluators, but the former Missouri cornerback will have a disruption to his NFL future.
Matt Miller of ESPN reported that Rakestraw would miss next week’s Senior Bowl because he’s expected to have surgery to repair a core muscle injury that he dealt with throughout the 2023 season. However, he’s expected to be at the NFL Scouting Combine next month.
Miller has Rakestraw No. 19 on his big board, while Mel Kiper Jr. projected Rakestraw at No. 31 in his debut mock draft on ESPN. Field Yates of ESPN is also a big fan of the Missouri cornerback.

Rakestraw in the 2023 season appeared in 9 games and started 8 at cornerback and made 35 tackles, matching his single-season high. He did not play against Ohio State or Arkansas to close the season.
