ESPN analysts share College Football Playoff projections featuring 6 SEC teams

The 2026 college football season has not started yet, but some analysts are already making postseason predictions.
On Saturday, ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach unveiled their postseason projections for every bowl game and College Football Playoff game. Six SEC squads are featured making the CFP, but Bonagura and Schlabach only agreed on two of those teams, Georgia and Texas, making the 12-team field.

Here are the SEC teams projected to make Playoff games:
Alabama
- No. 9 seed at Texas Tech (Bonagura)
- Citrus Bowl vs. Penn State (Schlabach)
Georgia
- No. 5 seed vs. No. 12 Boise State (Bonagura)
- No. 5 seed vs. No. 4 Indiana in Fiesta Bowl (Bonagura)
- No. 2 seed vs. No. 7 Miami in quarterfinal (Schlabach)
- No. 2 seed vs. No. 3 Notre Dame in semifinal (Schlabach)
LSU
- ReliaQuest Bowl vs. Michigan (Bonagura)
- No. 10 seed at No. 7 Miami (Schlabach)
Ole Miss
- No. 10 seed at No. 7 Miami (Bonagura)
- Las Vegas Bowl vs. Washington (Schlabach)
Texas
- No. 3 seed vs. No. 6 Oregon in quarterfinal (Bonagura)
- No. 3 seed vs. No. 2 Notre Dame in semifinal (Bonagura)
- No. 5 seed vs. Boise State (Schlabach)
- No. 5 seed vs. No. 4 Oregon in quarterfinal (Schlabach)
Texas A&M
- Citrus Bowl vs. Penn State (Bonagura)
- No. 11 seed at No. 6 BYU (Schlabach)
