ESPN is gearing up for the big SEC tilt this week between Alabama and Georgia, hoping for a game similar to last season’s 41-34 classic the Crimson Tide won last year.
During an episode of Get Up, Taylor Lewan, Will Compton and Josh Pate were giving predictions on the game, and they all see the home team winning this game as well.
“It’s all about the Alabama offensive line,” Pate said. “If they can give Ty Simpson time to work, they can carve Georgia up. The Bulldogs pass rush is the most important part of the game.”
Pate indicated he likes Georgia to win that matchup, taking the Bulldogs. While Pate thinks it is about the UGA defense, Lewan pointed to the skilled players of the Bulldogs making the difference.
“I am taking Georgia as well, as I think Georgia has the best perimeters players in all of college football,” Lewan said. “The big knock on Mike Bobo going into the off-season was that he only goes East-West. That game against Tennessee, he went North-and-South and they overcame a 21-7 deficit.”
Alabama just three weeks ago were left for dead after the Crimson Tide were blown out by Florida State. However, the Seminoles look like a true national title contender, and the Crimson Tide have looked terrific in their last two games.
For the Bulldogs, as Lewan said, they were in big trouble in Knoxville early against Tennessee, but were able to come back and get the big victory.
This was as good of game as there was last year during the regular season, and college football fans across the country could be in store for another thriller on Saturday.
