The era of the Transfer portal has completely revolutionized the way teams across the nation construct their rosters, and the SEC has been no exception to this rule.

One team in particular that has hit the portal hard as of late is the Arkansas Razorbacks, who ESPN recently ranked as the SEC team that added the most experience from the portal this past offseason.

According to analysis from ESPN’s Max Olson, the Razorbacks added 31 players from the portal who combined for 253 total starts and 18,356 combined snaps across their respective careers.

In addition to being the most added experience in the SEC, Arkansas also ranks 15th in the nation overall, with a number of ACC, Big 12, and Big Ten programs making up the 14 teams ahead of them.

The next highest ranked SEC program behind the Razorbacks is the Ole Miss Rebels, who added 29 former starters who combined for 263 career starts. The Kentucky Wildcats are right behind them at 19th, adding 24 former starters who have combined for 256 career starts.

The transfer portal may offer a new way to supplement a team’s roster with talent, but whether that talent translates to success on the field is an entirely different story.

Both Arkansas and Kentucky are in for pivotal campaigns in 2025, so it will be interesting to see how things ultimately shake out for both of them.
