ESPN updates bowl projections for all SEC teams after Week 8

With Week 8 wrapped up, we’re nearing closer to bowl season.

ESPN has updated its bowl projections for all FBS teams, including 13 SEC teams that project to reach the postseason. Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach share their picks for how all the bowls will shake out.

The SEC currently has 9 teams ranked in the top 25. As of this week, here are the bowls that Bonagura and Schlabach anticipate the SEC teams playing in:

Alabama

• Bonagura: First Round Playoff – No. 11 Alabama at No. 6 Indiana
• Schlabach: Music City Bowl vs. Wisconsin

Auburn

• Bonagura: Gasparilla Bowl vs. South Florida
• Schlabach: Birmingham Bowl vs. Illinois

Florida

• Bonagura: Gator Bowl vs. Pitt
• Schlabach: ReliaQuest Bowl vs. Nebraska

Georgia

• Bonagura: Playoff Quarterfinals — No. 5 Georgia vs. No. 4 Utah
• Schlabach: CFP National Championship — No. 3 Georgia vs. No. 1 Miami

Kentucky

• Bonagura: First Round Playoff – No. 9 Kentucky at No. 8 Notre Dame
• Schlabach: First Round Playoff – No. 10 Texas at No. 7 Kentucky

LSU

• Bonagura: Citrus Bowl vs. Northwestern
• Schlabach: Citrus Bowl vs. Iowa

Mississippi State

• Bonagura: Birmingham Bowl vs. Tulane
• Schlabach: Liberty Bowl vs. Baylor

Mizzou

• Bonagura: Liberty Bowl vs. UCF
• Schlabach: Las Vegas Bowl vs. Arizona

Oklahoma

• Bonagura: Las Vegas Bowl vs. USC
• Schlabach: Texas Bowl vs. Oklahoma State

Ole Miss

• Bonagura: First Round Playoff — No. 7 Texas Tech vs. No. 10 Ole Miss
• Schlabach: Playoff quarterfinals— No. 11 Ole Miss vs. No. 3 Georgia

South Carolina

• Bonagura: Salute to Veterans Bowl vs. Miami (OH)
• Schlabach: Gasparilla Bowl vs. Virginia

Tennessee

• Bonagura: Texas Bowl vs. Oklahoma State
• Schlabach: Gator Bowl vs. Virginia Tech

Texas

• Bonagura: ReliaQuest Bowl vs. Wisconsin
• Schlabach: CFP semifinals – No. 10 Texas vs. No. 3 Georgia
