ESPN’s FPI provided some bulletin board material for Arkansas when it revealed what chance it was giving the Razorbacks to knock off No. 2 Georgia on Saturday afternoon.
The feeble percentage? That would be a 4% chance for the unranked Hogs to do the unthinkable in Fayetteville and take down Kirby Smart’s machine. Georgia (2-0) hasn’t been challenged so far during 2 home blowout victories over Tennessee State (63-3) and Western Kentucky (70-20), so Arkansas will at least have the chance to provide that first real adversity of the 2026 season as the Dawgs play their first road game of the season as well as their SEC opener.
It’ll also be the SEC opener for Ryan Silverfield‘s team, which is coming off a brutal 43-10 road loss against then-No. 20 Utah last week. Silverfield, who is in Year 1 of a rebuilding project at Arkansas, won his first game as Razorbacks head coach in Week 1 with a 31-14 victory over North Alabama.
That leaves the Hogs at 1-1 going into Saturday’s noon ET kickoff on ABC, as Silverfield gets a rare opportunity to coach his first SEC game at Arkansas on national TV, against the 2nd-ranked team in the country.
Could the home stage be a setting for a massive upset? ESPN’s FPI gives a giant “no” to that idea, although just maybe that 4% chance reality will find its way on the Hogs’ bulletin board as Arkansas tries to shock everybody in the Week 3 Saturday early window.
While ESPN’s FPI believes Saturday will belong to the Bulldogs, Georgia is about a 3.5-touchdown favorite on the road to take care of business and get to 3-0 on the young season.
